Women all over the world experience intense societal pressure to conform to a certain standard of beauty. I spoke in detail about what this looks like in a previous article here. These standards of beauty and attractiveness are often not based in reality. As a result, they can lead to an unhealthy sense of self-worth and a desire to change yourself. As Christian women, we certainly are not above falling into this trap.
You may be one of many Christian women struggling to reconcile a how to live a lifestyle of holiness and righteousness with your desire to be beautiful and attractive. I am here to tell you sis, those two seemingly opposite parts of you are in fact compatible! Below are the three main habits of radiantly beautiful (and confident) women.

Radiantly Beautiful Christian Women (RBCW) Have a Biblical Perspective on Beauty
While society encourages us to conform to a certain look or beauty standard, God’s Word teaches us not to be “conformed to this world” (Romans 12:2). The Bible encourages us to embrace our uniqueness and individuality in Christ. I love how perfectly it is stated in Psalm 139:14. “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” A radiantly beautiful Christian woman knows that she is God’s handiwork, and so are you! We are made in God’s image (Genesis 1:27). Let that sink in.
Aside from physical beauty, radiantly beautiful Christian women know the importance of inner beauty in the eyes of God. I Samuel 16:7 tells us that “man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” When you walk in the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), you are beautiful on the inside. When you are beautiful on the inside, that beauty is manifested on the outside.
RBCW Find Beauty in Their Unique Features and Qualities
Someone once said, comparison is the enemy of joy. That is so true! It is dangerous to always be comparing yourself to others and to be striving for “perfection”. If this is you sis, please stop. You will never be truly happy. You will never be satisfied with yourself. Instead, understand that your unique features and qualities are a reflection of God’s creativity as written in Psalm 139:14. Those features and qualities are also a symbol of your family/ancestral heritage.
If you need help practicing self-love and self-acceptance, stand in the mirror and take a good look at yourself. Write a list of everything you see that you like. Whenever you get a compliment from someone, add it to the list. Once you have a good five to seven things written down, repeat them to yourself everyday until you believe it.
RBCW Cultivate Beauty from Within
Whether you realize it or not, consistent spiritual growth and a healthy lifestyle are super important to becoming radiantly beautiful and confident. By implementing these two things into your daily routine, slowly overtime, you will become immune to the world’s influence. How other people look, what other people say, and what other people think will no longer have any impact on you. This is what I was referring to in my article on spiritual freedom. Without a doubt, a healthy mind and body can lead to greater confidence in one’s appearance.
Here are some practical tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle:
- Start your day with the Lord in prayer and/or worship. Here is the prayer journal that I am currently using.
- Fit in at least 20 minutes of exercise each day.
- Focus on eating a well-rounded, balanced diet.
- Surround yourself will other women who have similar goals and world views.
- Distance yourself from people who are constantly negative or critical.
- Reduce the amount of time you spend on social media.
